P is for Piano.
Finding a box of unwanted piano rolls inspired this collection.
At the time, I didn't know what one was, never mind how it could be played. The intrigue led me to many websites, and finally to a local enthusiast who kindly took the time to show me the player pianos and let me hear my rolls being played.
The amazing graphic of the rolls, with each dash and dot relating to a note on the piano, has been faithfully reproduced onto fabrics and papers.
